Beyoncé and Mariah Carey Take a Megawatt Selfie

Beyoncé is a lamb! On Sunday night, Queen Bey dropped by the Beacon Theater in New York City to catch Mariah Carey‘s self-titled Christmas concert, “Mariah Carey: All I Want for Christmas Is You.” And the two divas snapped a selfie with a whole lot of star power. The shot appeared to be taken backstage. Beyoncé was dressed casually (relatively speaking) for the occasion with a black fedora, satin bomber jacket, and silver chain necklace. Carey, on the other hand, was glammed out to the nines, dripping in diamonds, with her cleavage on full display. The two looked like the happiest of campers as they mugged for the shot.

I love you @beyonce thank you sooooo much for coming out tonight! ❤️????????????????????#merrychristmas

“I love you @beyonce thank you sooooo much for coming out tonight!” 46-year-old Carey gushed. She finished up her message with an explosion of emoji, ranging from a microphone to kissing lips. For her part, 35-year-old Bey did not post any pics, though her Instagram feed is almost 100 percent promotional and professional shots.

Beyoncé is on a well-deserved break after being on the road with her “Formation” world tour from April through October, while Mariah has been busy performing at the Beacon and canoodling with her new flame, backup dancer Bryan Tanaka (sometimes simultaneously). She has also been getting some quality time in with her kids, 5-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, who have been hanging backstage with giant headphones on — except for when their mom has pulled them onstage with her to strike a pose. It’s unclear how much they enjoyed that.

But while Mariah was thrilled about Beyoncé dropping by, Roc and Roe were enthused about something entirely different: snow. In a video Carey posted that same night, her kids can be seen hanging out on a roof deck overlooking the city, shovels in hand, celebrating the first snowfall of the season. “It’s snowing in New York!” they cheer as they raise their shovels. They then break into song, adding, “It’s snowing in New York! It’s snowing in New York! It’s a brand new song…” And then, sadly, the video ends before the rest of the original score is revealed. There wasn’t exactly enough snow to warrant shovels, but no one can argue with their delight.

It's snowing in #newyork !! #rocandroe ❄️❄️❄️

Mariah’s limited concert series will continues through Dec. 17, which means there are still a few more days for other celebs to get in on the selfie action. No word on whether the kids will get to enjoy a second snow, though.
