Beyoncé was Photoshopped into that unforgettable 'Lion King' photo, John Oliver confirms

Remember that star-studded photo of the entire "Lion King" cast? It turns out it took some special Disney magic to get everyone all together.

After fans speculated that Beyoncé was digitally added into the photo at a later point, John Oliver, who voices Zazu in the film, confirmed the rumors were true. The late night host appears to be standing next to Queen Bey. Must've been tough to get so many icons together in the same room, right?

"People are speculating (Beyoncé) was Photoshopped in," Stephen Colbert prompted Oliver on "The Late Show" Friday.

"Yeah, she wasn't there," Oliver replied. "No. I think almost everyone else was there. But I remember Chiwetel (Ejiofor, who voices Scar) was sitting in the front and he said, 'you need to be careful where your foot is.' "

Oliver recalled looking down and seeing a strip of tape with "Beyoncé" written on it.

"It literally was like an electrical reaction, just going like, 'oh, (expletive),' " he said. "Just the future presence of Beyoncé was so intimidating. If you look at my face in this, I look really intimidated. And that's because what I'm doing is imagining that I am about to be put into a photo with Beyoncé – one day. And that was nerve-wracking enough."

Colbert noted the huge amount of space between Oliver and Beyoncé, compared to the rest of the cast's positioning.

"That's only appropriate," Oliver laughed. "It's only appropriate that there's a significant gap between me and the actual queen."
