The denim pop-culture looks that live in the gay consciousness are almost too plentiful to count: Britney and Justin’s iconic matching moment. Katy Perry’s patchwork denim dress from the 2014 MTV VMAs. Lady Gaga’s bedazzled, jean-ful fit from the “Marry the Night” music video—the list goes on. So, what better way for Beyoncé to celebrate the beginning of Pride than with a subtle denim accessory?

Over the weekend, the “Texas Hold ’Em” singer continued her streak of stylish looks by sharing a new ensemble to Instagram, which featured a wink to the LGBTQ+ community: a denim top handle bag with images of rainbow flags stitched onto the front. And while she’s not often one for a caption, the Grammy winner emphasized the message of love by writing in a purple heart emoji.

As for the rest of her fit, Queen Bey looked totally ’80s in a pair of high-waisted mom jeans in a light wash, which she paired with a graphic Prince and the Revolution concert tee from Daydreamer, a nod to the late singer's birthday over the weekend. She added a touch of grunge by sporting black platform combat boots and a thick silver chain around her neck. Alone, these pieces would’ve made a surprisingly understated look for the star, but fear not, because she gave her ensemble the Beyoncé touch by adding cat eye sunglasses and a long furry brown coat.

Since the release of her Cowboy Carter album, Beyoncé has really been embracing Western style, whether she’s rocking ten-gallon hats or saddle-ready chaps. And while this look was a little more rocker heavy, the superstar’s hints of denim clearly indicate that she’s not abandoning her cowgirl era anytime soon.
