Beyoncé is far from done serving high-fashion Western-themed looks following the success of her latest country-inspired album, Cowboy Carter. Her latest ultra-glamorous take on cowgirl fashion, posted on her Instagram May 15, was elevated with Loewe’s viral Rose heeled sandals from the fashion house’s spring 2022 collection.

The Italian-made leather sandals feature two slim black goatskin straps across the vamp, a round toe and a 3.25-inch stiletto heel accented by a red rose. The flower was made of crushed crepe petals applied to each shoe by hand.

This is not the first time a celebrity has donned Loewe’s playful rose-heeled sandals. Chloë Sevigny wore them in April 2022 and Dua Lipa wore them a week later. The rose heel was also made in a pointed-toe slingback pump silhouette.

Lately, Loewe has been known for making whimsical heels made from replicas of unexpected everyday items, including makeup brushes, nail polish, tulips, a bar of soap, and even a broken egg (which Elle Fanning has worn). On the sporty and stylish press run for “Challengers,” Zendaya wore a custom pair of white pointed-toe Loewe pumps with tennis ball heels. (The fashion house’s creative director Jonathan Anderson was the costume designer for the Luca Gaudagnino film, which also included an oversized t-shirt reading “Told Ya,” now sold by Loewe for $250.)

Beyoncé’s latest Instagram post—an event in and of itself at this point in her storied career—features a reel of nine photos featuring her latest glam all-black cowgirl look, including shots with her husband Jay-Z and Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, along with a shoe closeup. Bey was styled by costume designer Shiona Turini, who also curated the singer’s epic, sparkling wardrobe on last year’s Renaissance world tour.

Hailing from Houston, the “Cuff It” singer has incorporated Western elements into her Destiny’s Child days. On the cover of her prior album, 2022’s Renaissance, she wore a disco ball mirrored cowboy hat, and bedazzled cowboy hats were a staple among tour goers. Yet the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, where she went full cowgirl in a white Stetson hat and Louis Vuitton skirt suit, unofficially marked the start of Beyoncé’s cowgirl era, which was only amplified with the release of Cowboy Carter on March 29.

Since the superstar surprise dropped the project’s lead singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” during the Super Bowl in February, the western wear trend has taken off. with Cowboy boot sales have increased 24 percent that week and over 20 percent week over week following the album’s release.

The incomparable pop star is noted for head-turning, often glitzy high fashion looks on the red carpet and main stage with designer heels to match. Her red carpet outfits often utilize color, volume and crystal embellishments, often highlighting the work of Black designers. During the Renaissance World Tour in 2023, the fashion icon brought 41 pairs of custom Jimmy Choos to pair with the shimmering designer costumes she rotated every night.

Throughout her career, Beyoncé has embarked on many style ventures, from her House of Dereon line with her mother in the ’00s to her own Ivy Park line, which launched in 2015. In 2020, Beyoncé launched her Ivy Park x Adidas collection, which includes footwear and has capitalized on the athleisure trend. She’s also collaborated with Balmain, Topshop, Tiffany & Co. and more.
