Music festival style reached its peak in the mid-2010s, with flower crowns, gladiator sandals, and fringe galore dominating the scene. And while it might seem that festivalgoers have since moved on from those era-defining, you-had-to-be-there trends, Beyoncé just proved there’s still something to be gleaned from the boho renaissance.

In a series of new photos posted on Instagram today, the superstar’s cowgirl era took an unexpected turn for the bohemian in an outfit that could easily be found in Coachella 2016 street-style photos. The singer wore a daring tiered coatdress made of desert-hued suede, embellished with pink and dark brown flower-shaped cutouts all over. She styled the piece over high-rise denim short shorts and caramel suede wedge booties with wraparound ankle straps. The leggy display also helped show off the interior of the coat, which featured a colorful patchwork display of red-dyed fabric and cheetah-print panels.

Beyoncé kept her accessories to a minimum, wearing a gold chain necklace with a ball pendant and matching chandelier earrings from 8 Other Reasons. She finished off the look with some dark aviator shades and—of course—one of her go-to cowboy hats.

Since the release of her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, back in March, the Texas native has put her country roots on full display by way of her wardrobe choices. Besides repping cowboy hats, Bey has drawn sartorial inspiration from the Old West via textiles like denim and leather and garments like bolo ties and assless chaps.
