If you’re looking for a club banger to add to your holiday party playlist, Beyoncé has just gifted you with an early Christmas present. On Thursday, just in time for the release of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, the icon dropped her new song “My House.” It fits right in with the dance/house tracks she delivered on her hit album Renaissance. While the new song is an exciting surprise for the Beyhive, we should’ve seen this coming. No one knows how to do a new project roll out like Queen Bey.

Fair warning, this isn’t for everyone, as there is a lot of profanity. The song starts with a hard, thumping beat, but around halfway through it transitions into a melodic message. The 32-time Grammy winner sings “I will always love you, but I’ll never expect you to love me when you don’t love yourself/Let’s heal the world one beautiful action at the time/This is real love.” Even the artwork has a ‘90s house music aesthetic. It has a futuristic blue and black look, with the “Break My Soul” artist in shades, looking like she’s ready to lead us into deep space.

I know it feels like we’ve been living in the Renaissance forever, but it’s actually only been a little over a year since the album came out. So soak it up now, because once 2024 hits, Bey will go into another one of her extended hibernations and we’ll be not-so-patiently waiting for her next surprise take over.
