Beyoncé Celebrates Kelly Rowland At ‘Mea Culpa’ Premiere: “Dats My Best Friend!”

Beyoncé stepped out on Thursday night (Feb. 15) in support of Kelly Rowland’s latest creative project. The premiere of Mea Culpa was a family affair, with Rowland surrounded by Tina Knowles-Lawson, JAY-Z, and Angela Beyince in a group shot — shared on social media by the “Texas Hold ‘Em” performer.

The carousel post features the group photo, a girls-only picture, a shot of Beyoncé and JAY-Z, and close-up looks at the mother of three’s sleek black-and-white ensemble.

“Dats my best friend! Dats my best friend!!!!! So proud of you Kelly,” boasted Queen Bey in her Instagram caption.

Michelle Williams also expressed support for the “Coffee” performer while attending the film premiere.

“I remember when she was filming this… I just remember her being so excited, her talking about all the different shots and how beautiful it is. I also remember talking about how great it was to collaborate with Tyler Perry,” explained the 44-year-old of her former group member to ET.

“I’m very excited for the leading lady.”

Mea Culpa arrives on Netflix on Feb. 23 and stars Rowland alongside Trevante Rhodes. The movie is directed by Tyler Perry and tels the thrilling story of a criminal defense attorney taking on the case of a seductive artist accused of murdering his girlfriend.

“I was floored, one, with how focused he was and how he saw things in his brain before they happened. So I watched him assess the space and know where to go,” detailed the 43-year-old to ET of working with the acclaimed filmmaker.

“His energy and how he maneuvers through a space in a scene is like… I just want to be a fly on the wall, just to know what he’s thinking,” she shared. “I just love him. His Virgo qualities are just too strong not to love. And I love that he trusts his instincts.”
