Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion performed their Grammy-winning hit “Savage (Remix)” for the first time during the Renaissance Tour stop in their hometown of Houston on Saturday (Sept. 23).

As the beat dropped, Meg made her way to the stage as she revved up the crowd with, “I’m that bi**h. Been that bi**h, still that bi**h. Will forever be that bi**h. What’s up, Houston?”

Bey hyped up her fellow Houstonian as she yelled out, “I love you, girl!” Meg responded, “I love you, Beyoncé!”

“Savage” dropped in April 2020 from Meg’s Suga EP, which also boasted the singles “Captain Hook” and “B.I.*.*.H.” Bey hopped on the official remix which sent the track to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The joint collab garnered two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song in 2021, and also a nom for Record of the Year.

Megan joined Beyoncé for one night, after pulling out of the 2023 Global Citizen’s Festival. Reps for the annual event stated that the Traumazine rapper would not be performing “due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.”

“Hi there — due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival,” read a response to a fan on Sunday (Sept. 10) via X.

Regarding the “Savage (Remix)” live performance, one fan tweeted, “I’ve BEEN saying this HAS to happen. No way they wouldn’t both give H-Town what they deserve.”

Another person pointed out that Kelly Rowland also pulled out of a performance that weekend, further teasing a rumored Destiny’s Child reunion. However, Kelly, Michelle, LaTavia and LeToya all attended the Houston show, but did not perform.

The tour has seen a plethora of surprises and star-studded nights — with celebrities not only spotted in the audience, but onstage, too.

During the first of the three-night run at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, the show opened with a DJ Khaled and friends set including Coi Leray, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Roddy Ricch, Offset, Doechii, and more. On Bey’s actual birthday, Diana Ross performed “Love Hangover” before serenading the mother of three with “Happy Birthday.”

Kendrick Lamar and Bey also performed an “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” remix at another show.
