Beyoncé has announced her long-awaited new album, Renaissance, which is set for release on Friday, July 29th.

In a coordinated social media rollout early Thursday morning, the album’s title and release date were simultaneously revealed via Spotify’s, Apple Music’s, and Tidal’s Twitter accounts. Additionally, Beyoncé updated her personal Twitter and Instagram bios, and a product listing for the album appears on her website. A separate product listing on Apple Music reveals that the album’s tracklist contains 16 songs.

Even more exciting, Renaissance is subtitled “act i,” suggesting that Queen Bey has even more new music on the way.

Update: In a new feature for British Vogue, editor-in-chief Edward Enninful said Beyoncé’s new album features “soaring vocals and fierce beats.” Enninful went on to describe it as “Music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul. As ever with Beyoncé, it is all about the intent.”

Her seventh solo album to date and first since 2016’s earth-shattering Lemonade — which Consequence later name as the best album of the 2010s. In 2018, Beyoncé and JAY-Z released their collaborative album, Everything Is Love, which Queen Bey followed up in 2019 with The Lion King companion album, The Lion King: The Gift. In 2020, she released the one-off single, “Black Parade,” and last year she contributed the song “Be Alive” to the film King Richard.
