Red Bull is taking over the Queen City this weekend!

Cincinnati will host the Red Bull Flugtag at Sawyer Point Park and Yeatman's Cove on Saturday – the world-renowned event's first trip to Ohio since it flew through Cleveland in 2004.

For the event, 40 teams designed and built human-powered flying machines (no engines here!) that will be launched off a 27-foot flight deck and into the water below. Teams will be judged on the length of flight and creativity of their aircraft.

And this weekend's aircrafts will, indeed, be creative.

From a flying chili dog to a re-creation of the floating house in Disney/Pixar's "Up," the Cincinnati edition of the Red Bull Flugtag is set to be a spectacle. Anyone can vote for their favorite design in the People's Choice Award contest, but we pulled out the five we are most excited about.

Take a look at the design plans below, and check them out in person on Saturday (before they likely meet their watery end).

Rhinegeist Brewery has teamed up with the Art Academy of Cincinnati to construct a "gravity-defying" Rhinegeist delivery van. Except the Van-Go might not be that "gravity-defying" seeing as it has no wings. It's just a van. That van will be pushed off the 27-foot Red Bull Flugtag platform, with the pilot attempting to stand on top of the sunroof.

Up, Up, and Away! – by The Bafoons

"We found out about this whole event just today so did not have much time to organize and plan in detail before application deadline," wrote the four college roommates behind Up, Up, and Away! who have aptly nicknamed themselves The Bafoons.

Inspired by the balloon-powered flying house in Pixar's heart-wrenching masterpiece, "Up," a rider will seemingly hang from a roof-looking triangular hang glider, which will be connected to "many, many balloons." Time will tell how this could go, but the crowd will likely be in for a treat. The Bafoons made one thing clear: "We don't half-a** things."

Betty White Bomber – by Team Top Gums

Named for the late, beloved Betty White, Team Top Gums have combined two of their loves, the movie "Top Gun" and the hit series "The Golden Girls," to design quite the spectacle.

The design shows a smiling shark-like contraption on top of a rolling jaw, which will glide Team Top Gums down to the Ohio River. As Viper tells his troop of pilots in "Top Gun," "There are no points for second place." This squad appears to be going for that trophy.

The Magic Carpet – by Arabian Flights

Arabian Flights, the team behind the Magic Carpet, is a family of four. All coming from different professional backgrounds, they have put their minds together for this Flugtag design. But it might not be the most family-friendly flyer. Perched on a magic carpet atop a rolling cart, the rider and the carpet will detach from the cart, and let magic handle the rest.

Only gravity will tell how far magic can take them.

Flying Weiner – by Weenie Hut Jr.

Whether they like it or not, the rider of the Flying Weiner will wear a hot dog costume, launch from a rolling bun and fly down to the Ohio River on a chili hang glider. Despite missing the opportunity to team up with Skyline Chili on a punny name, Weenie Hut Jr.'s flyer is about as Cincinnati as it gets.
