Bette Midler’s Broadway ‘Hello, Dolly!’ Completes Cast With Beanie Feldstein

Beanie Feldstein, the actress who appeared in “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” has been cast in “Hello, Dolly!,” the upcoming Broadway revival starring Bette Midler.

Feldstein will play Minnie Fay, the young woman who works in a milliner’s shop and gets caught up in the comedic hijinks surrounding the flamboyant matchmaker Dolly (Midler). David Hyde Pierce, Gavin Creel and Kate Baldwin also are among the actors to star in the buzzy revival.

Feldstein recently wrapped production of Whitney Cummings’ “The Female Brain” alongside Sofia Vergara, and had a role in Greta Gerwig’s “Ladybird” with Saoirse Ronan, both due next year. She’s repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

“Hello, Dolly!” has quickly become one of the Broadway season’s most hotly anticipated productions. Among the factors stoking interest are Midler’s Broadway return in singing role, after a box-office busting run in Hollywood-insider solo play “I’ll Eat You Last,” and the broad appeal of “Dolly,” a Golden-Age favorite hasn’t been revived on Broadway in more than 20 years.

Produced by Scott Rudin, “Hello, Dolly!” begins preview March 15 prior to an April 20 opening at the Shubert Theater. The production is probably the biggest-name contender in a field of musical revivals this season that also includes “Falsettos” and “Miss Saigon,” already on the books, plus a staging of “Sunset Boulevard” looking likely.
