Bethenny Frankel is one of the original members of 'Real Housewives of New York' and is one of the most memorable. She is known for starting up Skinnygirl cocktails, volunteering with hurricane relief efforts, and most importantly, telling it like it is. That is what comedian Michael Rapaport admires most about the RHONY star. In 2018, he tweeted, “Bethenny is still the greatest Housewife, because good, bad or indifferent she always keeps it Real. It’s called the “Real Housewives” It’s not called the friendliest, happiest or always chipper Housewives. #RHONY@Bethenny@Andy@BravoWWHL#Bethenny BTW, how’s my spelling?”
Bethenny is Leaving 'RHONY
Bethenny announced she will not be appearing on the next season of 'RHONY' suddenly and wrote a meaningful tribute to the show in an Instagram post stating, "You started this journey with me in my tiny apartment in my late 30s, wondering what would happen to me. I was broke, single, had no family and no idea what the future held. I had big dreams and I never stopped, but I honestly didn’t know if I would ever get here. You helped me to get here." She told Andy that she was proud to be a member of the Bravo family and had nothing but positive words.
Rapaport Did Not Take Bethenny's Departure Well
Andy Cohen sat with super-fan Michael Rapaport to discuss Bethenny's departure. He described it as brutal. He said, "It’s like a death in the family...“I have no doubt in my mind the girls are going to continue to make 'The Real Housewives of New York' glorious … uh crazy. Fun and fantastic. But, Bethenny, as a fan, we’re going to miss her.” Rapaport thinks the current 'RHONY' cast is perfect as is and that it will be very challenging to find her replacement.
Will Bethenny Return?
However, this isn't the first time that Frankel has left the franchise. After joining 'RHONY' in 2008, she left for a few seasons and returned in 2015. This is what has Cohen, Rapaport, and many 'housewives' fans questioning whether she will leave the show for good this time. Cohen told Bravo's The Daily Dish, “We were so lucky to have these last seasons with her on them. It was so fun to have her back, and she brought so much to the show that I just am living in the gratitude of her second return. And I will hopefully live in the gratitude of her third return because we are much like the mob. You can’t get out. I do hope and think that she will come back some time… Who knows?” Rapaport is more certain about Bethenny's potential return stating, “My prediction, I’ll say it right here, is that at some point, two seasons, she’ll be back."
