Bethenny Frankel’s Podcast Goes on Hiatus After Mother’s Death

Divorce isn’t easy—especially for Bethenny Frankel. We all followed the Real Housewives of New York alum through her nightmarish breakup, but she’s been opening up about the process in extreme detail on her new podcast, Just B Divorced. On the podcast, she hasn’t held back about her criticism of her ex Jason Hoppy. She’s mentioning it all about how their lengthy divorce ended up being one of the most stressful sagas of her life.

Although the podcast has picked up some major momentum, fans realized that episodes were recently removed. Some listeners assumed that Bethenny was having second thoughts about the podcast for her daughter’s sake. Others thought Jason might have sent out a cease and desist to get Bethenny to pipe down about their breakup. It turns out Bethenny decided to pull the plug for the sake of her sanity. Page Six reported all of the details about her emotional decision.

Putting the podcast on pause

In addition to making headlines with her divorce podcast, Bethenny recently revealed that her mother passed away from lung cancer. In a touching post, Bethenny saluted her mom, while also reflecting on their complicated history. Between that significant loss and the divorce pod, Bethenny shared in a statement on her Instagram that she needed a bit of a break.

“I have chosen to temporarily remove my divorce podcast as a result of an overwhelming response and an influx of messages that have converged with the most significant loss of my life,” Bethenny shared in a statement on Instagram.

Bethenny said that it felt “impossible” for her to relive her traumatic divorce while also navigating the tremendous loss of her mother. She said it doesn’t make sense to trigger herself by talking about the divorce when she’s already heartbroken. Eventually, she plans on reuploading the episodes.

According to Bethenny’s reps, she will continue to record her other podcasts during this downtime. So, we’ll still get to hear her rant about her Dollar Store finds, Kardashian headlines, and anything else that crosses her mind. She just doesn’t want to rehash her messy divorce right now. You have to respect her for knowing her limits.
