The tie still haunts him because of his father-in-law, The Colonel, a major Bakersfield supporter who frequently brings up the incident. Thirteen years later, Reno Hightower, the quarterback from that game, is struggling financially and indebted to Jack’s bank. To finally move on from the almost two-decade-old incident, Jack employs hilarious ways to get Reno and his other batchmates to agree to replay the game so that he can finally move on from that fateful night.
Robin Williams plays Jack Dundee, and Kurt Russell is cast as Reno Hightower. The rest of the cast includes Pamela Reed, Holly Palance, Donald Moffat, Margaret Whitton, M. Emmet Walsh, Donovan Scott, R.G. Armstrong, Dub Taylor, and Carl Ballantine.
