The best pre-Black Friday deals Canadians can get right now

It was only a few years ago that Black Friday crossed the border and became a Canadian shopping staple.

But now, retailers are jumping the gun and are rolling out steep discounts ahead of what’s anticipated to be one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

If you’re a bargain hunter or just want to get a head start on your Christmas shopping, you can find some deals that retailers are claiming to be as good or better than their Black Friday prices, and that’s all without putting up with the crowds that are sure to come on Friday.

We took a look around for some of the best deals, and here’s what we found:

Best Buy

Best Buy’s Black Friday Prices Now sale is exactly what it promises: Black Friday prices that you can get right now. If you’re still skeptical, Best Buy has their Black Friday flyer up online, if you want to double check if you’re getting the best deal.

You may think of Best Buy as you’re go to place for electronics, but online, their product selection goes far beyond what you’ll find in store. You can snag some incredible deals on luggage, sofas and more.

As some of their sale prices are in fact Black Friday prices, you’ll notice some of them go beyond Wednesday and run until the end of the month.

Walmart

Walmart already has a reputation for having some of the best prices around, so with its Black Friday Sneak Peek, which is in effect now, you can be sure to find some solid deals. But just make sure you know what you’re looking for.

While $119 is a fantastic price for Beats Solo headphones, that price is for the older Solo 2 model, instead of the newer Solo 3s. To make matters worse, they’re wired instead of wireless.

Walmart’s prices for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of hot game Overwatch are impressive at $29.96 a piece, but the PC version is full price. Best Buy has Walmart beat there by offering the PC version of Overwatch for $40.

Walmart’s TV markdowns are modest at best, so you might also want to check electronic-focused stores like Best Buy for more substantial savings.

Toys R Us

Toys R Us has a slew of toys for their Black Fundays 1/2 Price Deals sale, and many of their toys on sale are from big names like Barbie, Crayola, Playskool and more. But Toys R Us has much more than toys. You can find select Hasbro board games at 25 per cent off, buy one get the second half off card games and buy more, save more deals on video games. The Black Fundays 1/2 Price Deals promotion is also on at Babies R Us.
