The Best Dressed Stars in Cannes Film Festival History: Angelina Jolie, Princess Diana and More

With the evolution in red carpet dressing over the past year, when celebrities and stylists shifted their attention to archival fashion, there’s an excitement to see what guests will wear on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this year. Are we going to see more vintage McQueen or more Givenchy by John Galliano?

Historically, the Cannes Film Festival has been a huge fashion runway for actresses and models. In the 1960s and 1970s, when social media wasn’t on the scene, the stars would show off their glamorous gowns, knowing pictures of the event would circulate around the world.
