The ongoing modern C-drama Best Choice Ever releasedits final episode on April 24, 2024. It features Xu Kai and Yang Zi in the lead roles. The episode focuses on the members of the Mai family relying on each other as life continues to test them. Cheng Huan (Yang Zi) and Zhi Ming (Xu Kai) are trying to find Mrs. Feng, the seller of the famous Mandarin Fish, a childhood delicacy of Mrs. Liu. But they are heartbroken to know that the shop does not exist anymore and the seller is in extremely poor health. To top it off, Mrs. Feng’s daughter is uncooperative.

The next day, after enjoying the Mandarin Fish prepared by Cheng Huan, Mrs. Liu goes to see a play with her family. With the help of a puppet show, Cheng Huan and Zhi Ming narrate the life story of Mrs. Liu. At the end of the event, her family members, along with the villagers, encourage Mrs. Liu to perform something for them. As she enjoys performing in front of everyone, Mrs. Liu rediscovers her purpose of life. Meanwhile, Cheng Huan’s eyes tear up, thinking about how her mother sacrificed her passion for the sake of her family.
The event ends with a colorful fireworks show. Cheng Huan’s heart is full seeing her family content and happy. She is finally able to get through to Mrs. Liu and convinces her to visit the hospital.
Mrs. Liu undergoes treatment and finally gets better. As a token of appreciation for the village and its residents, Cheng Huan and Zhi Ming opened a luxurious hotel to boost the tourism of the place. Things finally start to look up for the Mai family as Mao and Zao decide to get married. Cheng Huan, who once wanted to part ways with her mother, now has a newfound respect and admiration for her.
