Bernie Sanders Gives Worst-Case Scenario for Trump Presidency

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to discuss America’s future now that Donald Trump is going to be president. Bernie had some positive things to say about Trump, but when Stephen asked him for a worst-case scenario, Bernie’s predictions were grim. Senator Sanders went on to explain how a Republican-controlled Senate, House of Representatives, White House, and possibly Supreme Court could change the rules to make it easier for Republicans to continue winning elections. For example, Bernie said, “They will move forward more vigorously in voter suppression. Making it harder for poor people, for old people, for people of color to actually vote.” The Vermont Senator also said that they could do away with campaign finance laws, making it even easier for extremely wealthy people and corporations to influence elections. It wasn’t all bad news though, Bernie also let people know what they can do now, saying, “What you do is get involved heavily into the political process. When millions of people stand up and fight back, we will not be denied.”
