Chloe Troast made her network TV arrival on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live,” and the North Jersey native poured some love over her debut performance.

At the end of the 90-minute episode, as the entire cast wished all a good night, Troast hopped up and down on the stage and signaled a hand heart to the live studio audience and the millions of viewers at home.

Troast, 26, who grew up in Ho-Ho-Kus and graduated in 2015 from Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, is the only newcomer to the cast of the award-winning sketch comedy series, now in its 49th year.

She delivered her first line in a piece titled “Beach Day,” helping to bury a friend, fellow cast member Andrew Dismukes, up to his neck in sand. His name was Rick in the sketch.

“Rick,” she said, “you look so crazy!”

In another piece, whose subject matter was fit only for a late-night audience, Troast surprised host Pete Davidson when he opened the door of a tall cabinet to find her inside it.

Davidson, 29, an actor and an alumnus of the “SNL” stage, appeared in both sketches with Troast.

In July, Troast was named among the New Faces of Comedy at the annual Just for Laughs festival in Montréal. She also co-starred in a feature film titled “Sweethearts,” to be released soon on Max.

“SNL” announced on Oct. 4 that Troast would join its cast as a featured player.

This week’s episode was notable because it did not begin in the traditional format of a cold open for which “SNL” is famous. Instead, Davidson addressed the atrocities of war in the Middle East.

“I know what you’re thinking,” he said, his expression deadpan. “Who better to comment on it than Pete Davidson.”

His father, a New York City firefighter, was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“I know something about what that’s like,” he said. Moments later, he explained: “Sometimes, comedy is really the only way forward through tragedy.”

Also of note were the unexpected cameos of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his significant other, pop rock megastar Taylor Swift.

The singer and songwriter introduced musical guest Ice Spice, 23, for the rapper’s second performance of the evening.
