Ben Stiller's kids — Ella and Quinlin — are following in the family's acting footsteps.

Stiller welcomed his daughter Ella in 2002 and his son Quinlin in 2005 with his wife of over two decades, actress Christine Taylor.

As the son of late actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, the Zoolander star helped continue to build their Hollywood legacy with his numerous movies. Now, he's witnessing his own children do the same as Ella and Quinlin have acted alongside him.

The Severance director and executive producer has said he appreciates that his kids have distinct personalities.

"I can see aspects of myself in them but I also see two totally unique individuals. And I wonder how they became so well adjusted!" he joked to Parade in 2013.

Realizing that his children are proud of him but not tracking his professional successes has also helped form Stiller's parenting mentality.

"What I've learned is that your kids are not keeping score on your career," the Meet the Parents star told Esquire in 2022. "They just want a parent who's emotionally present and supportive of them. That's probably what they want more than for me to be going off and pushing the bounds of my creativity."

Stiller's fans have seen more of Ella as she's grown up and attended red carpet events with him, including the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.

"So happy to be with my beautiful daughter @ella.stiller tonight at the #GoldenGlobes!!" Stiller wrote on Instagram.

Quinlin hasn't gone to as many public events, but he's often spotted with his dad at NBA games.

Here is everything to know about Ben Stiller's kids: Ella and Quinlin.

Stiller and Taylor welcomed Ella on April 9, 2002, in Los Angeles. She graduated from the Calhoun School in New York City (the same school her dad attended) and later studied at Juilliard.

Even from a young age, it was clear that the apple didn't fall far from the tree. "It's not even funny how much [Ella] is like Ben," Taylor told PEOPLE in 2004. "She's definitely a ham."

Stiller has worked consistently since before Ella was born, and as his daughter got older, the two discussed how his busy career impacted her growing up.

"She's pretty articulate about it, and sometimes it's stuff that I don't want to hear. It's hard to hear," Stiller told Esquire. "Because it's me not being there in the ways that I saw my parents not being there."

He continued, "I had always thought, Well I won't do that. But then it's that thing that, like, I was trying to navigate my own desire to fulfill the hopes and dreams I had, too."

Despite both parents' career trajectories, Ella didn't necessarily find her mom and dad cool.

"I said to my daughter, 'You can talk to me about anything. I'm a cool mom. You don't have to be embarrassed. You can tell me anything.' And she goes, 'You just saying that made you uncool,' " Taylor recalled to PEOPLE in 2014.

The actress added, "We're at the age where our daughter gets embarrassed of us no matter what we do."

During a 2019 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Stiller shared that Ella wanted to pursue acting as a career.

"She loves it and she's very passionate about it and she knows what she wants to do," he said. "I knew when I was 10 or 11 years old that I wanted to direct movies and eventually act too. It's a crazy business ... and I just want to support her in it in any way possible, legally."

Ella's on-screen roles have included two shorts, an episode of the 2018 TV mini-series Escape at Dannemora (directed by her dad), 2020's Hubie Halloween, an uncredited appearance in Stiller's 2014 film Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and as a voice actor in 2010's Megamind.

She also starred as Rizzo in her high school's production of Grease and has acted in plays in N.Y.C.

Over the years, Ella has accompanied her dad to several red carpet events like the 2022 Emmys, the 2019 Golden Globes, and the 2018 and 2019 Project ALS Galas.

At the Globes, Stiller told PEOPLE that watching Escape at Dannemora weekly with his daughter was "my favorite part of the whole part of the process," to which Ella added, "He would rewind and show me all the little tricks."

Even during her parents' separation (Stiller and Taylor split in 2017 but reconciled during the COVID-19 pandemic), Ella attended public events with them both, like the 2018 U.S. Open.

A year later, Ella and Stiller traveled to Puerto Rico together to work with Y No Había Luz, an arts organization that helped people rebuild after Hurricane Maria.

Stiller and Taylor welcomed Quinlin on July 10, 2005, in L.A. Four years later, the actor told PEOPLE that Quinlin completed their family, noting, "Two is a handful. I feel very fortunate and blessed."

The family eventually moved from L.A. back to the Manhattan neighborhood where Stiller grew up, which allowed both kids to attend the same school as their dad.

Around the time of their move, the Along Came Polly star told Parade that Quinlin was "the sweetest, most innocent, giving kid." Stiller added, "I love how open-minded he is."

Since settling in New York, Quinlin and his dad often sit on the sidelines at New York Knicks games. They are both big basketball fans and at a 2018 game between the Knicks and Brooklyn Nets, the pair were even caught in a sweet twinning moment.

Like his sister, Quinlin has also worked with his father — both Stiller kids had minor voice roles in their dad's animated movie Madagascar. Sitting in front of the microphone was a bit nerve-wracking for Quinlin, who was just under 3 at the time, but eventually, he felt comfortable.

"He got in front of the microphone, and there was like a run of like a minute where he just had fun and he was making sounds," the proud dad told Chicago Parent in 2010. "But I'm happy that they're both in the movie. It's interesting because you realize that if your kids aren't that comfortable with that situation you don't wanna force them to do it."

Over a decade later, the father-son duo appeared in a November 2022 ad for PlayStation's game God of War Ragnarök, which also starred John Travolta and his daughter, Ella, and Lebron James and his son, Bronny.

As Stiller has continued exploring his work behind the scenes, Quinlin and his sister have served as his "focus group" for his Apple TV+ show, Severance.

"My kids were sort of the first test screening for me in terms of when I was editing episodes," the Dodgeball star told PEOPLE in 2022. "I would show them and they started to get into it ... to have them as kind of a focus group to see what they reacted to. It was good. It was fun to share it with them."
