Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) is booked and busy this fall!

The trailer for season 2 of Quantum Leap doesn't reveal what happened to Ben after the season 1 finale left him lost in time and space, but it does give us a glimpse into where and when he'll be. Area 51, the first day of the LA Riots, Egypt (an episode that was filmed in Cairo!) and more are shown in the new footage, which you can exclusively watch below. The most surprising thing is hearing him explain that he's a time traveler to... someone. The Quantum Leap project is top secret, so who is this new person that Ben is telling all about it?

It's Hannah Carson, played by new series regular Eliza Taylor, a complex woman who is more that she appears to be. But Hannah isn't the only new face to be seen on season 2. Also joining the cast is Peter Gadiot as US Army Officer Tom Westfall.

Now that Ben saved his fiancée, Addison Augustine (Caitlin Bassett), the new season's adventures will more closely resemble the original series that starred Scott Bakula. The leaps will be the focus, with less of the serialized storytelling the reboot had last season. "We want to take our incredible cast and give them the ability to do more, so for us closing the loop on the mythological questions, like 'why did he leap?,' lets us have the serialized elements be more in the emotional space in season 2 as opposed to the heavy plot space," showrunner Martin Gero previously told EW. The we saw Ben, he was floating away from his team, so how Addison, Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park), Jenn Chu (Nanrisa Lee), and Magic Williams (Ernie Hudson) get him back is unknown.

We do know the season kicks things off in 1970s Russia when Ben leaps into a military transport mission. ""It [is] one of our biggest episodes," executive producer Chris Grismer told EW. Manifest star Melissa Roxburgh, P.J. Byrne, and Aaron Abrams will appear in the episode, which is described as a "43-minute movie."

Quantum Leap returns Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
