Sources: Ben Simmons expected to miss 3 games with shoulder sprain

Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons injured his right shoulder in the first half of Wednesday’s 106-104 loss to the Utah Jazz.

He did not return for the second half, and the 76ers announced that he suffered a minor sprain of his AC joint.

Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reported Thursday that X-Rays on Simmons’ shoulder were negative but that he’s expected to miss the 76ers’ next three games with a Grade 1 AC joint sprain.

Simmons, a 2018-19 All-Star, has averaged 15 points, 7.7 assists, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game as Philadelphia’s reeled off a 5-1 start.

Any amount of missed time from the 76ers’ dynamic playmaker will be a blow to the team.
