Ben & Jerry's Recalls 2 Ice Cream Flavors Due to Undeclared Nuts

Look twice before you grab your trusty Chunky Monkey pint out of the fridge: Ben & Jerry’s recalled two of their popular ice cream flavors due to undeclared nuts.

The Food and Drug Administration announced in a release on Monday that Unilever, the company that owns Ben & Jerry’s, voluntarily recalled a “limited quantity” of the flavors Coconut Seven Layer Bar and Chunky Monkey.

These flavors may contain nuts including almonds, Brazil nuts and hazelnuts that are not declared on the ingredients list. People who have an allergy or sensitivity to these types of nuts could have a “serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” if they eat the recalled products, the FDA said.
