As Bennifer continues to face speculation about their relationship, sources are weighing in on Ben Affleck’s response to those Jennifer Lopez divorce rumors. Apparently, the Argo director has figured out “one of the issues” he’s facing with J-Lo—but can it be resolved?

According to a source who spoke to Entertainment Tonight, “Ben feels like Jen has a hard time feeling satisfied and that’s one of the issues they’re facing.” The source added, “Ben is one of the only people who feels comfortable enough to be honest and real with Jen. It’s part of why Jen loves him, but also why she’s upset with him.”

All of the outside noise about their relationship certainly isn’t helping. While the source claims that J-Lo is trying to “play it off like she doesn’t care what the public thinks about her,” the truth is that “she loves her fans so much, so their feedback does impact her.” However, the insider also noted that “Ben and Jen are going through normal problems and nothing scandalous is going on,” so it looks like there’s hope after all.

The source’s comments come amid multiple reports speculating that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s relationship is on the rocks. InTouch Weekly was the first to report about the couple’s alleged breakup, with one source telling the outlet, “The writing is on the wall—it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce—and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!” According to the insider, “He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben has already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”

However, another source recently told Us Weekly that the pair aren’t heading toward a divorce—but they are having some arguments. “Jen and Ben are having issues in their marriage,” the insider shared, claiming that it all started “a few months ago as Jen had started ramping up work commitments and prepping for her tour.” The source continued, “Jen is very focused on work. They are on two completely different pages most of the time.” Three sources confirmed to the site that J-Lo and Ben are not divorcing and are aiming to resolve their problems.

J-Lo seemed to confirm as much when she appeared on the red carpet for the Netflix premiere of her new sci-fi movie, Atlas, on May 20, 2024. While walking the carpet, Lopez was seen wearing her wedding ring and subtly addressing the divorce rumors, telling ET, that “one thing you can always trust in [is] family.”

Ben and J-Lo met back in 2001 while filming their movie, Gigli, where they played love interests. They started dating in 2002, which was also when Ben appeared as J-Lo’s love interest in her “Jenny From the Block” music video. By November 2002, Ben had proposed with a stunning 6.1-carat pink diamond ring from Harry Winston, and the pair got engaged. However, just two days before their planned wedding in September 2003, J-Lo and Ben postponed the ceremony and eventually broke up.

Fast forward to April 2022, and J-Lo and Ben got engaged again. This time, they tied the knot in July 2022 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Reflecting on their journey, J-Lo shared in her newsletter, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
