Beloved Flagler restaurant to remain open following announcement of potential closure
This beloved Flagler Beach restaurant is keeping its doors open, after announcing its potential closure earlier this week.
Beach Front Grille, known for its casual, beachy vibe and varied menu of seafood favorites, announced in a social media post this afternoon that the restaurant is here to stay, an outcome that was uncertain as of just last weekend.
Owner Jamie Bourdeau noted in Jan. 26 Facebook post that the restaurant had entered into a mediated agreement last summer with plans to purchase the Beach Front Grille for $2.25 million with a closing date of Jan. 31. As of the day the post was made, Bourdeau noted that only $1.7 million had been acquired.
“Just a little bit short of the needed funds to close," he wrote. "There have been and will continue to be heavy negotiations, texts and phone calls over the weekend to cross the finish line before Wednesday. If we do get it done, then no problem! If we don’t get it done then we hand over the keys and enjoy the memories we have had on what could be our final weekend!”
Throughout the week, Bourdeau updated the community through various optimistic Facebook posts, thanking Beach Front customers for their endless support, prayers and positive wishes that flooded the eatery's inboxes, noting on Jan. 30 that things were looking “positive” for the restaurant.
Today, Bourdeau provided a highly-anticipated update to eatery’s loyal following online, stating, “Good news, Beach Front Grille is here to stay!” the Facebook post read.
“We are open by the grace of God, it came down to minutes. A heartfelt thank you to everyone for the incredible love and support. The overwhelming response from the community has been truly heartwarming. Gratitude to each person who stepped up to help in this situation. We're looking forward to continuing to serve you all.”
Beach Front Grille is located at 2444 S. Ocean Shore Blvd. in Flagler Beach and is open 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily. For information, call 386-693-4839 or visit beachfrontgrille.com.
