One of Austin's most beloved Chinese restaurants is getting a second life. William Wong plans to open New Fortune 2 near Anderson Mill in the coming months, a representative for the restaurant told the American-Statesman.

Menu details are scarce at the moment, but guests can expect a wide array of popular Chinese decisions and Cantonese dim sum specialties. And, yes, there are plans for dim sum carts on the weekend.

New Fortune 2 will be located in a place likely familiar to many lovers of Chinese food: the building at 12300 FM 620 was previously home to Jenna's Asian Kitchen.

Wong and his partners in the original New Fortune, Ted Liu and Cao Nguyen (former T&S Seafood co-owner), operated that restaurant in the Chinatown strip center from 2014 to 2021, closing after the coronavirus pandemic crippled the restaurant's sales.
