Belltower Coffeehouse to open a second location in Shelby Farms Park. Here's what to expect.

You will soon be able to enjoy coffees and treats when visiting Shelby Farms Park.

Belltower Coffeehouse will open its second location in Shelby Farms Park early this fall. The new coffee shop will be located in the First Horizon Foundation Visitor Center at Shelby Farms Park.

The menu at Belltower Coffeehouse’s Shelby Farms Park location will feature a wide range of food and beverages. Guests will be able to mobile order from anywhere in the park. Store hours are expected to be 7 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.

Christopher Galbreath, managing partner of Belltower Coffeehouse, said he and his business partner Micah Dempsey made the decision to expand to Shelby Farms Park because of their desire "to provide visitors with an unparalleled experience while immersing them in the park’s tranquil surroundings."

“Micah and I ran cross country at Shelby Farms Park in high school and college, so opening our second location at the park feels like a full circle moment for us. We definitely have a lifelong relationship with the park,” Galbreath said. “This new shop is also special to us because it is fully funded by investors. This is a strategy we will be using going forward to grow our business.”

Galbreath and Dempsey operate Belltower Coffee & Wine Bar and Belltower Studio on the Highland Strip.

Part coffee shop, part wine bar and part pottery studio, Belltower was founded as a way for the two friends to pursue a career as potters. The two companies are distinct entities, but the synergy between the two goes beyond the fact they are in the same building.

“Coffee has served as our way of bringing people in and building a supportive community that is everything to us,” Galbreath said.

The coffee shop and studio first opened in November 2017 at 549 S. Highland St. In June 2020, it moved to a larger space down the street to its current home at 525 S. Highland St.

Shelby Farms Park Conservancy Chief Executive Officer Jen Andrews said Belltower is a good fit for the park.

“We’re excited to be able to better serve our visitors by expanding food and beverage options in the park through our new partnership,” Andrews said. “The team at Belltower is a great fit, and we’re proud to be able to support talented local entrepreneurs as they grow their business. We know our visitors will love the chance to grab great coffee, snacks, and more while taking in the beautiful views at park.”

The 950-square-foot grab-and-go coffeehouse has indoor seating, along with outdoor seating on the AutoZone Front Porch.
