Bella Thorne is ready to get married to her fiancé Mark Emms.

The Shake It Up alum started dating Emms in August 2022 after the two met at Cara Delevingne’s birthday party. They got engaged nine months later, and have been planning their wedding since.

Thorne told PEOPLE in December 2023 that ever since getting engaged, the couple’s relationship has only “gotten heightened,” and that every day they “draw closer.”

“It's really like, ‘Oh wow, we're really, you're my partner.’ Let's do this together,” she said. “So that kind of becomes more real every day, and kind of solidifies our partnership more and more every day.”

She added that even though the two were “definitely very much past” the honeymoon phase in their relationship, they were still learning more about each other and growing together.

He is a producer

Emms is the owner of his own production company, Emms Productions, while also working with Eastern Road Films as a producer, per his LinkedIn. Previously, he founded another company in 2008 called Fire Global Media Productions, which he left in 2019.

He has worked with an impressive portfolio of stars including Stevie Wonder, John Legend, will.i.am, Ellie Goulding, Tony Bennett and Dua Lipa. In 2022, he executive produced the Netflix docuseries Bad Vegan, which follows the story of Sarma Melngailis whose vegan restaurant was conned out of money by her husband.

"I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It was the most bizarre and surreal story I’d ever heard and I had to try and make sense of it,” Emms told Yahoo about why he wanted to fund the series. “How and why did this nightmare happen to someone like Sarma? It was also a story that I found deeply shocking and cruel and it felt important that it be told to a wider audience."

He owns a trendy bar in New York City

In addition to being the CEO of his own production companies, Emms is also the co-owner of The Mulberry Bar in New York City. The trendy hotspot opened in February 2023 in the middle of Fashion Week and celebrated the occasion with a star-studded party.

The guest list included Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Taika Waititi, among others, per Women’s Wear Daily. It continues to be a popular reservation and a magnet for celebrities looking for a night out.

He and Thorne met at Cara Delevingne’s birthday party

Emms and Thorne met on a beach in Ibiza in August 2022 where they mingled all night during Delevingne’s birthday party. “It was love at first sight as the sun rose,” the Rumble Through the Dark actress told Vogue.

PEOPLE confirmed the two were dating a month later, after photos showed them kissing on a yacht in Mykonos, Greece.

"It's new, and they're having fun," a source close to the couple told PEOPLE at the time. "They've been dating for about a month."

Thorne went Instagram official with Emms on Valentine’s Day in 2023, posting a sweet picture of the couple sharing a candy necklace Lady and the Tramp-spaghetti-scene style.

"Find someone u want to share ur candy with 😍,” she wrote in the caption. "Ps.this sexy tall British man is mine so get yah own cuz I feel like kickin Ass today.”

They got engaged after nine months of dating

In May 2023, Thorne announced that Emms had proposed to her the day before Mother’s Day at her house. He popped the question with an over 10-carat emerald-cut diamond ring and the happy couple celebrated with their families afterward, per Vogue.

The singer told the outlet that she was already thinking about her wedding, sharing that she had her sights set on a countryside location in the U.K., where Emms is from. As for the dress, Thorne said she planned on having multiple — and was considering designers from Dior to vintage Schiaparelli.

"Every bride does not need one gown, but four!" Thorne said.

They're in the throes of wedding planning

Thorne told PEOPLE in December 2023 that before they get married, she wanted to make sure they continued to grow together and work through any issues they may face with the help of a therapist.

“[We’re] still really learning each other's traits, and trying to get them right before we get married so that we're not figuring out all that stuff on the table,” she said. “I think me and Mark are really in our language of now, talking it out now, so we can just do it or get through it or decide how we want to feel about it.”

“Or if we need to see a therapist over that one specific topic, then we do it,” she added.

Thorne elaborated that while their wedding planning was “going great,” they hadn’t come a long way yet as both were busy with their work.

“All our planning goes into work,” she told PEOPLE. “We have not done the wedding planner yet. We haven't gotten to that stage yet.”

She added that they did need to get on it “ASAP” since the date was set for 2024. “We're just so busy and every time we're like, ‘OK, babe, let's do it,’ we always end up doing it with work,” the “Phantom” singer said.

They enjoy traveling together 

Thorne and Emms have had some romantic vacations across the globe. After meeting in Ibiza and vacationing in Mykonos in 2022, they hit Europe again in July 2023 with a trip to Italy. Thorne was in Taormina with her fiancé where they enjoyed a night out after her film, Paint Her Red, debuted at the 69th Taormina Film Festival.

Two months later, the couple returned to Italy and took a gondola ride in the canals of Venice after they made an appearance at the amfAR Gala Venezia.
