Bella Thorne to Star in Sci-Fi Horror ‘The Friendship Game’ for 13 Films

Bella Thorne has signed on to star in “The Friendship Game, a science fiction-horror film directed by Scooter Corkle (“Hollow in the Land”) from a script by “The OA” writer Damien Ober.

Per the film’s logline, “The Friendship Game” tells the story of “a group of teens in a small town as they come across a strange object that tests their loyalties to each other with increasingly destructive consequences the deeper into the game they go.”

Daniel Bekerman of Scythia Films is producing. Thorne, Ober, Gabriel Chicoine, Zak Kilberg of Social Construct Films and Tannaz Anisi and Greg Schenz of 13 Films are executive producing.

CAA and 13 films will launch sales at Cannes 2019; the film is set to film in Vancouver and begin production in August.

Thorne is repped by CAA and Thor Bradwell of Thirty Three Management, while Corkle is represented at CAA and Grandview. Ober is repped by WME and Echo Lake Entertainment.

Thorne’s next project is “Leave Not One Alive,” written and directed by Jordan Galland. She was most recently seen in the supernatural thriller “I Still See You,” directed by Scott Speer, and the TV film “Conrad & Michelle: If Words Could Kill,” and the Freeform series “Famous in Love.”
