Bella Hadid Is Straight-Up Playing Us With Her Instagram Feed

If you scroll through Bella Hadid‘s Instagram account, you’ll find snapshot after snapshot of the model posing on jet skis in revealing thong bikinis, chilling on a yacht in Dubai, flaunting her figure in a velvet bikini and, at one point, bikini-clad while promoting the now-infamous disaster known as the Fyre Festival. And while that Instafeed may give the impression that the 20-year-old spends more time on vacation than at work, Hadid set the record straight that her posts aren’t exactly what they seem.

“It’s crazy because it looks like I have a lot of downtime and vacations, especially when people look at my pictures online,” Hadid told Compelo. “But the thing is that I don’t post every day when I’m working, but I will post old pictures from previous trips and things which makes it look like I’m on vacation a lot of the time, when actually I’m at work.”

In fact, Hadid admitted that when she’s “really intense” working, she books upwards of four months straight of work, with one weekend off in between before heading back into things. (Ah, hence the countless magazine covers, ad campaigns, runway shows and fashion collaborations.)

“People think that in between I have so much time off but I only ever take two days off every two weeks, at the maximum,” she said. “I’m a workaholic. I will go somewhere so that I can breathe and really take a break and get my thoughts back together before I have to go back to everything.”

So, what are all the #inspo posts for then? That would be her fans — 12.8 million on Instagram alone. “They are looking up to me but it’s really me looking up to them, because they’re the strongest ones in the world,” she said.
