Bella Hadid Freed the Nipple for Her Cannes Film Festival Return — See Photos

Bella Hadid is back on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet and to say we've missed her is a huge understatement. The model made her triumphant Cannes comeback at the premiere for the film The Apprentice in a Saint Laurent sheer brown halter dress, emphasis on sheer.

Hadid looked stunning in a midi-length light brown cocktail dress with a super sheer mesh top that let her nipples peek through, flowing into a ruched bodice before ending in an equally sheer pencil skirt that hit just below her knee. Though the dress was form-fitting versus a full-skirted sundress, it reminded us of Marilyn Monroe's iconic white halter dress, with the peekaboo top adding a modern edginess. To accessorize, she opted for Chopard jewelry.

Hadid wore her hair in long, sculpted Old Hollywood waves over one shoulder and slipped on a pair of brown ankle-strap peep-toe heels for a retro touch. For her makeup, the model stuck to monochromatic brown tones on her eyes, cheeks, and lips to match the dress and added some glittering jewels on her ears and fingers; Cannes is all about full-throttle glam, after all, so you need some sparkle to take your look to the next level.

Hadid has taken a few years off from all things Cannes, but she was spotted over the weekend arriving in France for the 2024 festival, looking beachy chic in a minimalist brown strappy sundress, flats, and gold hoop earrings. You can go right ahead and add her nipple-baring dress to the Bella Hadid x Cannes Hall of Fame, alongside the instantly iconic black Schiaparelli gown with a trompe l'oeil “lungs” necklace covering her breasts from 2021, as well as the gorgeous black and white Jean Paul Gaultier gown inspired by a 2002 dress worn on the runway by the one and only Naomi Campbell. Nobody does jaw-dropping red carpet fashion like Hadid, and her sheer moment is yet another example.
