Some people take vacations because they like to lounge on the beach. Others to explore a new city.

What about vacationing simply to drink craft beer? That's not uncommon anymore, as numerous breweries across Ohio want you to stay the night with their special lodging options.

If you're looking to take a beercation, here are some breweries that can make that happen for you.

Doghouse Columbus Hotel at BrewDog

Multinational brewery chain BrewDog has a taproom just outside of Columbus in Canal Winchester, complete with a dozen beers on tap with local brews and the company's own craft beer. What's less standard about the brewery? It has a hotel attached to it.

The brewery says the Doghouse Columbus Hotel is the world's first hotel inside a craft brewery. It has 32 beer-themed rooms with draft beer on tap in each. Rooms start at $200 a night and can be booked on BrewDog's website.

Historic Farmhouse at Little Fish Brewing Company

Little Fish Brewing Company was built out of an abandoned mechanic's shop in Athens. Two years ago, the owners rehabbed another building on the property for extra zealous brewery visitors who want to spend the night.

In 2021, the brewery acquired two acres of land bordering the brewery which included a quaint 19th century farmhouse. Owners flipped it into an Airbnb, and now visitors to Athens can stay in the four-bedroom house for $219 a night.

The farmhouse can be booked on Airbnb.

Fibonacci Brewing Company

Fibonacci Brewing Company has always been known to take the brewery business beyond expectations. Its location in Mount Healthy, a suburb 10 miles north of downtown Cincinnati, also operates as an urban farm, making its beers with ingredients grown on site and foraged nearby. Its latest venture is an on-site Airbnb.

For $100 a night, you can stay in a farmhouse on the urban farm's property. It has two cozy spaces with a view of the urban farm – you might be awoken to the bleating of goats, though.

You can rent the farmhouse on Airbnb.

The Century Home at Sandy Springs Brewing Company

Just a 30-minute drive east of Canton, Sandy Springs Brewing Company has a big house where you can spend your weekend with family and friends and explore the small northeastern Ohio town of Minerva.

It has three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, modern appliances and more. Extra perks include Sandy Springs merchandise and check-in beers.

The Century Home can be booked on Airbnb.
