Becky Lynch Says She Has A Few Years Left, Wants To Defend Tag Titles At WrestleMania
Becky Lynch says she wants to compete twice at WWE WrestleMania 39.
Lynch and Lita won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the February 27 episode of WWE RAW by defeating Dakota Kai and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL. The duo’s feud with the stable will continue at WWE WrestleMania 39, as they will team up with Trish Stratus to face the trio. Lynch has been in the business for over two decades, and WrestleMania 39 will mark the latest addition to a long list of high-profile shows she has competed at.
During an appearance on The Tommy Tiernan Show, Lynch was asked about the longevity of her career, and she noted that she has a few more years left.
“I started 21 years ago, and so I still have a few more years left,” Lynch said.
The former WWE RAW Women’s Champion then looked ahead to WrestleMania 39, where she will team up with Lita and Trish Stratus to face Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY). While this match has been confirmed, Lynch also expressed her hope that she will get to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on one of the nights of WrestleMania.
“WrestleMania is the big one. That is on April 1 and 2….,” Lynch said. “That will be in SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. 80,000 people per night, two nights. I’m going in, first night I believe, in a six-woman match. Then, because I’m tag team champion, I’m hoping that I will be defending my title the second night too, so ‘Becky Two Fights’, they’ll call me. They might. I don’t know. We’ll try to get that on a t-shirt or something.”
