Many people can relate to the feeling of wanting to be Beyoncé, but few can truly transform themselves into her quite like this beauty blogger. Patrick Starr is a makeup artist who has generated a cult following from all of the amazing work that he does — from collaborations with other bloggers and stars, to teaching both boys and girls to express themselves in whichever way they please. But he has also garnered a lot of attention for the incredible transformations that he creates. Most recently, Starr perfectly transformed into Beyoncé, rocking her 2017 Grammy performance look.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel on Wednesday, Starr showed his audience how he went from being himself to being Queen Bey. Although his glam makeup is definitely on point, the accessories made to match Bey’s Grammy from that night really do the trick.

“I aspire to be a survivor, an independent woman, a diva and Beyoncé,” Starr says in the intro monologue to his video, before getting into the full-face look. The artist pays attention to every specific aspect of Beyoncé’s makeup look at the time of the performance, even nailing her pregnancy glow by prepping his skin with MAC strobe cream.

The final look included a look-a-like dress made by Kerstine Faure, a voluptuous head of hair, a replica crown made with “barbecue skewers, a headband, and a dream” by Fabian Zvon Quinonez, and, of course, a breast plate from Sharon ShareAlike‘s BoobsForQueens.

Fans of both Starr and Beyoncé have been praising the look, which is a welcomed change from the reaction received as a result of his previous Solange transformation. In early August, Starr re-created Solange’s all-white wedding look, and received some backlash about trying to replicate a black woman.

“But you’re a Filipino man & she’s a black woman,” one person replied to a tweet of the image, before insisting that Starr could have gotten away with the look if he hadn’t added the wig.
