‘Beat Shazam’ Cues Up Corinne Foxx As DJ For Season 2

Fox’s Beat Shazam will become a family affair next year. The network said today that Corinne Foxx is joining the musical game show as its new DJ for the 2018 second season, alongside her dad Jamie Foxx, who serves as it host.

Model-actress Foxx has appeared on the MTV series and was named by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association the 2016 Miss Golden Globe. She also launched Foxxtales, a lifestyle website and online marketplace featuring interviews with influential women, personal essays and a shop featuring female-founded businesses.

Inspired by the music-identification app, Beat Shazam features teams of players racing the clock to identify hit songs. The team with the best score then goes up against Shazam for the chance to win a cash prize. The show was ordered straight to series in August, and Foxx was announced as the host during TCA in January. The show premiered in May and was renewed for Season 2 in July.
