The Chicago Bears (3-3) are gearing up for a rematch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1), where Chicago is looking to rebound following a frustrating loss to the Green Bay Packers (5-1).

Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers, the Bears made several roster moves, which included updates on defensive tackle Akiem Hicks and running back Damien Williams.

Here’s a look at the roster moves the Bears made on Saturday:

DT Akiem Hicks ruled OUT vs. Bucs

The Bears will be without one of their most important defensive players as Akiem Hicks has been downgraded to out against the Bucs. Hicks has been battling a groin injury over the last few weeks, and he reaggravated it last Sunday against the Packers. While Hicks was limited in practice on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday, it sounds like he’s not fully healthy and will miss Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay.

RB Damien Williams removed from reserve/COVID-19 list

The Bears are getting some reinforcements at running back as Damien Williams has been removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Williams was placed on the list ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Packers, which left rookie Khalil Herbert to take most of the reps in his absence. With Williams being available, Chicago will have their two-headed monster in Williams and Herbert as David Montgomery remains on injured reserve with a knee injury. But given the Bucs have the best run defense in the NFL, don’t expect a lot of success on the ground.

DT Margus Hunt flexed to active roster

The Bears have promoted defensive tackle Margus Hunt from the practice squad to the active roster. The move comes with Hicks being ruled out for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay, where Chicago is going to need reinforcements. Hunt has appeared in two games for the Bears this season, where he totaled 3 tackles in a Week 3 loss against the Browns.

OL Dieter Eiselen flexed to active roster

The Bears have promoted offensive lineman Dieter Eiselen from the practice squad to the active roster. Eiselen provides added depth on the offensive line, where Elijah Wilkinson is currently filling in for an injured Germain Ifedi.
