Beach Bum Beaver Gets 'Saltwater Therapy' in South Carolina State Park

A beaver had a beach day in South Carolina’s Huntington Beach State Park on April 28, letting the ocean waves wash over them and floating near the shoreline.

Footage shared by South Carolina State Parks shows the beaver in the waters.

“Goes to prove all creatures need saltwater therapy every now & then!” wrote the South Carolina State Parks on the April 28 Facebook post.

Officials said the beaver was probably trying to escape a predator, like an alligator, in a nearby freshwater pond and would safely make its way home on its own. Credit: Kaley Nevin/South Carolina State Parks via Storyful
