The Beach Boys ‘Endless Summer Gold’ tour making a stop at the Berglund Center

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Get ready for “Good Vibrations” and for “Surfin'” with one of the most successful bands of all time — The Beach Boys.

In an unexpected announcement, the Berglund Center shared The Beach Boys’ “Endless Summer Gold” tour will stop in the Star City on June 18. Starting at 7:30 p.m. fans and music lovers will fill the music venue to enjoy the harmonies from the iconic band.

The Beach Boys are one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time. They have sold over 100 million records worldwide and received 33 Platinum and Gold record awards.

The group is known for this transcended music that represents the California culture. The band is led by lead singer and chief lyricist Mike Love, along with longtime member Bruce Johnston, musical director Brian Eichenberger, Christian Love, Tim Bonhomme, Jon Bolton, Keith Hubacher, Randy Leago, and John Wedemeyer continuing the legacy of the iconic band. However, the concert will not feature Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, or David Marks.

‘Just Like that!’ Bonnie Raitt to perform at Berglund Center

They first hit the music scene in the 60s, and their first single was “Surfin.” Between the 1960s and today, the group had over 80 songs that stamped the charts worldwide and 36 of them were in the U.S. Top 40. The band had four songs that hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 including “Kokomo (From”Cocktail” ),” “I Get Around,” “Good Vibrations,” and “Help Me, Rhonda.”

Rolling Stones ranked their “Pet Sounds” album as No. 2 on the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list. The crew also came in at No. 12 for Rolling Stone’s “Best Artist of All Time.”

In 1988, The Beach Boys was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They are also recipients of the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award.

The Berglund Center says presale tickets will go on sale on April 11 and tickets will go live on Friday, April 12 online. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 866 -HDG –TICKETS or going to the Berglund Center Box Office.
