‘The Beach Boys’ documentary coming to Disney+

The story of the rock band from Hawthorne, California, that brought “Good Vibrations” across the globe is heading to streaming.
On Tuesday, Disney+ released the trailer for the upcoming documentary “The Beach Boys.”
“Get ready for an endless summer of fun, fun, fun,” the caption to the trailer’s video on YouTube reads.
The documentary, directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, follows the journey of the legendary band that “revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come.”
According to the official description, the documentary will contain never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews with the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston.
It will also feature commentary from other artists like Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder and Don Was.
“The Beach Boys” is streaming on Disney+ starting on May 24.
Formed in the early ’60s, the Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
“Between the 1960s and today, the group had over 80 songs chart worldwide, 36 of them in the US Top 40 (the most by a US rock band), and four topping the Billboard Hot 100,” according to the band’s website.
The Beach Boys still perform today and their upcoming tour schedule is packed with concert dates across the country.
They’re set to perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 25. They’ll perform at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Aug. 30.
