Fremantle and FOX are currently collaborating to co-produce a new Baywatch series that will soon hit the small screens. Lara Olsen has already been recruited to serve as the showrunner as well as the writer for the series. Despite the progression in assembling the creative minds behind the project, the creators are yet to announce more details about the reboot show. As a result, an official release date still remains a mystery. However, since the FOX officials have already greenlit the show, a premiere schedule could be on the cards in the foreseeable future.
The original 1989 series saw David Hasselhoff portray the celebrated character of Mitch Buchannon. He was also joined by Jeremy Jackson, Pamela Anderson, Michael Newman, Michael Bergin, Alexandra Paul, David Chokachi, and more, who rounded off the supporting cast.
