‘Batwoman’ Star Ruby Rose Reveals Emergency Neck Surgery After Stunt Injury (Graphic Video)

Ruby Rose, the star of the CW’s upcoming new show “Batwoman,” posted a graphic video on Instagram on Saturday that shows her under the knife for “emergency surgery” following a stunt injury.

“To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck… A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed,” Rose wrote in the Instagram post. “I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord [sic].”

The video Rose posted (below) may be disturbing to some.

To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck… A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed… I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord. I was in chronic pain and yet couldn’t feel my arms… Thank you Dr Bray for everything you did and for allowing me to keep working and doing what I love. I am forever in your debt. And to anyone asking why I let them video it.. Did you not watch that Greys anatomy episode where they left a towel in a patient?? Also I wanted to see what happens when we go under.

This isn’t the first time Rose has needed surgery for her spine. Back in 2018, in a tweet that has since been deleted, Rose said that she had suffered from a spinal issue for a decade and had to have surgery to rectify it.

“Batwoman,” in which Rose plays the lead role, premieres at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.

The series takes place three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared and will follow Kate Kane (Rose), who never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante.

As the logline reads: Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department is overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. In order to help her family and her city, she’ll have to become the one thing her father loathes — a dark knight vigilante. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.
