Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cross over in new animated movie

Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated movie revealed

The comic crossover event from writer James Tynion IV and artist Freddie Williams II is coming to the screen.

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meshes together the worlds of the Dark Knight and the Half-Shelled heroes in a brand-new animated film.

The characters first met in 2015 in the pages of Tynion and Williams’ Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which will now serve as the inspiration for a feature-length jaunt. A collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Home Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Nickelodeon, the film will see the TMNT joining forces with Batman, Batgirl, and Robin — thanks to a dimensional warp — to face the Caped Crusader’s worst enemies.

Troy Baker (Batman: Arkham Origins) becomes the first actor to voice both Batman and the Joker in the same project, while additional voice talents include Emmy winner Darren Criss as Raphael, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s Rachel Bloom as Batgirl, Saturday Night Live‘s Kyle Mooney as Michelangelo, Grace and Frankie‘s Baron Vaughn as Donatello, The Woody Woodpecker Show‘s Eric Bauza as Leonardo, Spongebob Squarepants‘ Tom Kenny as The Penguin, Adventure Time‘s John DiMaggio as Mr. Freeze, The Powerpuff Girls‘ Tara Strong as both Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, Reno 911‘s Carlos Alazraqui as Bane, and The Expanse‘s Cas Anvar as Ra’s al Ghul.

Syfy Wire, which was the first to announce the news, revealed the first photos from Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

“Not gonna lie, it’s been SUPER hard keeping this one a secret,” Baker tweeted of the announcement.

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will arrive on 4K, Blu-ray, and Digital later this spring.
