Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal to DJ at Red Rocks this fall

DENVER (KDVR) — A former NBA basketball star is switching from the court to the stage and heading to Red Rocks Amphitheatre this fall.

You may know him as Shaquille O’Neal, a sports analyst and former basketball player, or as DIESEL, the electronic music DJ.

As an NBA star, Shaq played for 19 seasons before transitioning to the television program “Inside the NBA.” However, sports wasn’t his only forte.

Despite Shaq’s well-known name in basketball, his musical background dates back over 30 years. His first album, “Shaq Diesel,” dropped in the early ’90s followed by “Shaq Fu: Da Return” and four other albums into the early 2000s.

Shaq stepped back into music production after releasing his first electronic album, “GORILLA WARFARE,” in 2023.

Now, he will be performing at Red Rocks for the first time for “Shaq’s Bass All Stars at Red Rocks” with artists like Habstrakt, Riot Ten, Benda b2b Stoned Level and CELO b2b Kozmoz.

If you want to see the NBA legend near Denver, tickets go on sale soon for his concert on Oct. 27 at Red Rocks.

Presale tickets hit the market on May 16 at 10 a.m. while general sale tickets will be available on May 17 at 10 a.m.

While Shaq won’t be playing at Ball Arena against the Denver Nuggets, he will be at another Mile High staple showing off his (dance) moves.
