“I’m thrilled. You know, I think everyone who comes in this at some point really wants to buckle down and move toward the end. And I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to escape some what might be called close calls and to advance every week,” says “Brady Bunch” actor Barry Williams about making it to the top seven on “Dancing with the Stars.” “I look forward to every week. Every week is like starting all over again fresh because it is.” Watch our exclusive video interview with Williams above.

Williams is partnered with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, who previously won Mirror Ball Trophies with football star Donald Driver and model Nyle DiMarco. To learn any dance on the show, Williams and Murgatroyd first “listen to the song to see kind of what the movement is.” Then the dance training itself “works out to about six hours a day on my feet every day … It’s like going to gym all day. So it’s a challenge in that way, but I will say that I’m probably in as good a shape as I’ve been.”

Coming up, Williams is performing a rumba for “Whitney Houston Night,” “It’s a wonderful dance. It’s a very sensual dance. It has a lot of energy in it, but it’s one of the smooth dances as well,” he explains. “It’s a beautiful dance to watch and to learn. And it has a lot of energy between the two partners.” And as for his partner, he praises Murgatroyd as “a wonderful choreographer” who “puts a lot of attention on the interpretation of the dance.” That “also taps into my experience as an actor,” which has been serving him well as he enters the eighth week of competition.
