Barrett-Jackson is adding a 2nd Scottsdale auto auction in 2024. Here's what we know

Barrett-Jackson will bring its renowned car auction to Scottsdale twice in 2024. The Scottsdale Fall Auction will take place at WestWorld of Scottsdale the weekend of Oct. 10-13.

In a news release, Craig Jackson, Barrett-Jackson chairman and CEO, explained the decision.

“For decades, Barrett-Jackson has listened to its customers, expanding into the automotive lifestyle event that it is today by reflecting what our bidders and consignors appreciate the most,” he said.

“After we hosted an auction in Scottsdale in October 2020, we received incredible feedback on how everyone enjoyed coming to this destination city that time of year. For more than 50 years, we’ve made Scottsdale the epicenter of the collector car universe every January and we look forward to solidifying that title year-round in 2024.”

Scottsdale Fall Auction to feature new entertainment elements

The four-day 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction will feature new entertainment and lifestyle elements. Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson, issued a statement citing the increasing number of consignments as a factor.

“The demand for Barrett-Jackson, and particularly this location here in Scottsdale, has led to an increasingly unprecedented number of consignments for our January auction, with hundreds of significant quality vehicles being deferred to other auctions every year,” he said.

“I’m confident that bringing two events to this city will help satisfy the appetite we’re seeing from enthusiasts across the board.”

Barrett-Jackson’s 2024 auction calendar will include the annual Scottsdale auction this week, the Palm Beach, Florida, auction April 18-20 and the new Scottsdale Fall Auction October 10-13.

The centerpiece of the new fall auction will be Sammy Hagar’s 2015 LaFerrari, which was expected to roll across the auction block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Upon final inspection of Hagar’s LaFerrari, it was determined that the car’s original high voltage battery was nearing the end of its anticipated eight-year lifespan.

The decision was made to hold the car back to get a replacement battery from Ferrari. Hagar explained the decision in a news release.

“This LaFerrari is a true work of art and a totally explosive driving experience,” he said. “We wanted to make sure its next owner had a truly immaculate supercar so we are moving it to the October auction."

Guests attending the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction this week will be able to see Hagar’s LaFerrari, which will be on display throughout the event at Sammy’s Beach Bar in the South Showcase of WestWorld.
