Barbra Streisand Reveals Two of Her Dogs Are Clones of Her Deceased Canine Samantha

Barbra Streisand is seeing doubles.

The Academy Award-winning songstress recently revealed to Variety that two of her three dogs — all fluffy, white Coton du Tulears — are clones of her late dog, Samantha.

Samantha died in 2017 at 14 years old, but before the dog crossed the rainbow bridge, Streisand, 75, had cells taken from the pooch’s mouth and stomach.

She used these samples to get two clones of Samantha — a pricey procedure. When the copy dogs arrived, Streisand, understandably, had trouble telling the puppies apart. Her solution was to put one pup in a red sweater and the other in a purple sweater, leading to their names Miss Scarlett and Miss Violet.

Miss Scarlett and Miss Violet live with Streisand and one other canine, Miss Fanny. Miss Fanny is a distant cousin to the icon’s beloved Samantha. Streisand fell in love when Miss Fanny’s breeder introduced the pair, especially after she learned Miss Fanny’s mother was named Funny Girl.
