“One Tree Hill” star Bethan Joy Lenz, best known for her role as Haley Scott in the beloved CW drama series, has announced a memoir set to release on Oct. 22 (and is available to pre-order on Amazon starting today).

Titled “Dinner for Vampires,” the book details the 42 year-old actor’s previously unknown experience in a cult, which began just as she received her breakthrough role in “One Tree Hill.” As the book’s logline describes, Lenz found a safe haven in a Bible study group with other Hollywood creatives when she started her career. However, the group soon revealed itself to be more sinister — “a slowly woven web of manipulation, abuse, and fear under the guise of a church covenant called The Big House Family.”
“Being a writer has been a great, private joy in my life since I was about 12,” Lenz wrote in an Instagram caption. “This isn’t the first book I thought I’d write, publicly, but as difficult as this subject matter could be to untangle, I’m grateful I get to share my story, my way. It’s a story of forgiveness and a roadmap to how manipulation works, with a heartache and humor along the way. We all make mistakes and I hope Dinner for Vampires reminds you that, no matter what weird roads you’ve gone down, you’re not alone.”
