Barbie and more at Mattel Adventure Park: Everything to know about the AZ theme park
As you’re eagerly waiting for “Barbie” to hit theaters, you may be pulling out your old toys from the attic and reminiscing about your childhood.
Maybe you miss watching "Thomas & Friends" and playing with your train set along the narrowing tracks. Or perhaps you long for competing in a game of Uno among friends.
You can do all of that and more at a theme park that’s set to open in Arizona soon.
You'll be able to relive all of your favorite childhood memories at one place full of rides and other interactive experiences.
Here’s the rundown on the Mattel Adventure Park coming to the VAI Resort complex under construction in Arizona.

Is AZ getting a theme park?
Yes! According to its website, the Mattel Adventure Park will be “action-packed” with rides and attractions for adults and children alike.
There will be indoor and outdoor areas and lots of air-conditioned space. The park will have themed party zones involving Barbie, Hot Wheels and Thomas & Friends.
Where is the new Mattel Adventure Park being built?
Mattel Adventure Park is being built at 9601 W. Cardinals Way in Glendale, Arizona. That's near State Farm Stadium off Loop 101.
The theme park will be a part of the VAI Resort, which is under construction and will feature an outdoor concert venue, four hotel towers, a nightclub and more. The resort is planning a 2024 opening.
How big is Mattel Adventure Park?
The Mattel Adventure Park will span nine acres and include over 160,000 square feet of themed air-conditioned amusement space according to the VAI Resort website.
What rides will Mattel Adventure Park have?
According to a park update from Glendale in 2022, the Mattel Adventure Park is slated to include a Barbie Beach House experience with a Barbie "flying theater," the Dream Closet Experience and the Barbie Rooftop with pink drinks and sweet and savory snacks.
There will also be a nine-hole mini golf experience with immersive games such as Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, life-size Pictionary and oversized UNO cards. The Master of the Universe’s Castle Grayskull will have a laser tag arena to fight for Eternia.
A Hot Wheels roller coaster, go-karting and a Thomas & Friends indoor theme park are also planned.
When will Mattel Adventure Park in Arizona open?
Although no date is confirmed, according to NBC Los Angeles the park is supposed to open in 2024.
There is a construction camera on the park’s website to keep an eye on the progress.
How much are tickets to the Mattel Adventure Park?
Prices for the Mattel theme park have yet to be announced.
