It’s got to be “Barbie,” right? The film’s soundtrack is up for 11 awards, including multiple nominations in the general field, as well as four out of the five nominations for Best Song Written for Visual Media. With that kind of dominance, it would be almost unthinkable for the film to lose here. That’s especially true when you remember that the award would go to producer Mark Ronson, a Grammy favorite who has taken home seven awards. Plus, the album is far and away the biggest in terms of popularity, achieving 126,000 equivalent album units in its first week; it’s the most successful movie soundtrack since “A Star Is Born” (2018), which also won this category. And with artists on the collection who are loved by the recording academy like Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish and Brandi Carlile, it’s likely the most Grammy-appealing soundtrack of the bunch.

Still, the Grammys can be unpredictable, so you should keep other contenders in mind too. Weird Al Yankovic’s “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” could be next in line, especially knowing how well liked he is by his peers in the academy (he’s a five-time Grammy winner). The soundtrack contains most of Al’s biggest hits, and as such could connect with voters due to nostalgia. Plus a lot of voters could cast their ballot elsewhere if they want to support “Barbie.” There’s also “Aurora,” the soundtrack to the hit limited series “Daisy Jones and the Six,” which features Grammy favorite Blake Mills, a past winner and two-time Producer of the Year nominee whose pull inside the academy could get the album some votes. The soundtrack also has Americana vibes, and since that’s a big bloc of Grammy voters, it could be helped by that too.

Will win: “Barbie”
Could win: “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”
Dark horse: “Daisy Jones and the Six”
