Barbie continues to be a smash hit at the box office for Warner Bros. Discovery, with the company reporting that the film has ended its first week earning more than $250 million at the domestic box office.

According to the company (via Deadline), Barbie earned $21.2 million on Thursday, finishing off its first week in the U.S. with $258.3 million, a stellar number for the hit film. As far as Thursday numbers go, Barbie is now the fourth-highest earning for first week Thursdays for the company, trailing only The Matrix Reloaded ($37.5M), The Hangover Part Two ($31.6M) and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ($22M).

Outside of the country, Barbie continues to be a hit internationally as well. With $258 million in the U.S., Barbie ended its first week with over $528.6 million at the international box office, thanks to $291.4 million from overseas in its first week, keeping it on track to be one of the biggest movies of the year.

Who is in Barbie?

Margot Robbie stars as Barbie, who leaves Barbieland in favor of the “real world” after a crisis of faith leads her to question her existence. Joining Barbie on the journey is Ryan Gosling’s Ken, Barbie’s boyfriend.

“After being expelled from Barbieland for being a less-than-perfect doll, Barbie sets off to the real world to find true happiness,” the official synopsis reads.

Barbie features a large ensemble cast, including America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Emma Mackey, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, Rhea Perlman, Dua Lipa, Emma Mackey, Ariana Greenblatt, Michael Cera, and Will Ferrell.

Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig from a screenplay she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. Robbie is a producer alongside Tom Ackerley, David Heyman, and Robbie Brenner.
